What is Utovlan?

This medication is able to treat or manage many menstruation symptoms including heavy, painful or irregular periods, premenstrual tension (PMT), endometriosis and breast cancer. However, it is mostly used as a period delay medication. 

How does it work?

Utovlan belongs to a group of medicines called progestogens which are similar to the natural female progesterone hormone. It works to delay periods by keeping the progesterone levels high which prevents a period from starting as it normally would. 

Is Utovlan suitable for me?

You will need a prescription to use this medication. This medication is most often used to delay a period as it can delay one for up to 17 days. This medication may not be suitable for everyone, so ask your doctor if Utovlan could be right for you.
